A little more spookiness

Today I am sharing this halloween tutorial using the FREEBIES from the Crafters Companion Crafter’s Inspiration Magazine Issue 11

1 (2)
Step 1. Take a sheet of black cardstock and cut it in half score each end at ½ inch and 1 inch.
Step 2. Cut an aperture out of one half this will be the front of your shadow box card
2 (2)Step 3. Print 2 mummies from the free CD-ROM from the  Crafter’s Inspiration Magazine 11. Using Spectrum Noirpens colour one entirely black (true black) and lightly shade the other using IG1 and cut them both out.
Step 4. Print the papers from the CD-ROM you wish to use.
Step 5. Adhere the background paper to the base of the card and add sticky pads to both mummies
TIP: add a little glue to sticky pads to give some movability when putting in place.
Step 6. First add the black Mummy to the background and then offset the white mummy so the black one looks like a shadow
Step 7. Add sticky tape to both sides of the base card and attach the front with the aperture on top.
Step 8: Finish the card using the rest of the print outs to decorate.
Here is a list of the things you will need to make this project, have fun!

Decorated Candle Tutorial

When is a candle not just a candle? When it’s a gift!

Anniversary Candle or Wedding Candle

Crafter’s Companion supplies:

Vintage Floral sentiment Stamps
Fioral signature dies
Centura Pearl Cardstock
Co-ordinations cardstock pastels

Other Supplies:
Memento tuxedo black ink
Wax paper

1.Using Rockablocks stamp the sentiment with black ink pad onto tissue paper

2. Cut as close as possible to stamped image and place in position on candle keeping it as flat and even as you can
(tip) you can apply a little glue stick to hold the image in place, dab the candle with the glue stick and rub it with your finger then place your image on candle keep it nice and even .

3. Take a large piece of wax paper wrap it tightly but evenly around the candle making sure you have plenty on the rear of the candle to hold onto while applying heat from the heat gun, this will only take seconds and you can actually see the tissue melting into the candle.

Remove the wax paper, now you have your image or sentiment beautifully on your candle.

4. Apply a little Modgepodge onto the candle then add your Lace and string, you can also add any pearls or gems at this point too

5.The candle stand is made using Centura pearl card and is finished off using  flowers made with pastel co-ordinations card and Fioral Duo signature dies
